The curriculum of the one-year Master's programme Software Engineering consists of four hard-skill technology-oriented courses, two soft-skill human-oriented courses, a course preparing you for your Master's Project and the Master's Project.
The entry requirements and the application procedure for this Master’s programme depends on whether you have completed your prior education in the Netherlands or abroad.
Do you have a degree from a Dutch university of applied sciences? Or have you completed a substantial part of a higher education degree programme in Informatics or a closely related subject? And have you supplemented your partial degree by several years of relevant practical experience in the field of software engineering in an industrial context? The Admissions Board may define a tailor-made pre-Master’s programme for you.
The pre-Master’s programme consists of UvA Bachelor's courses or self-study courses.
The Master’s programme Software Engineering can be done as a part-time study, in two years instead of one. Various companies offer the possibility to follow the programme within working hours.
The application process and the deadline depend on whether you have completed your prior education in the Netherlands or abroad. We strongly recommend to start the application procedure at least a week before the deadline. Getting all your documents ready and going through the process will take several days.
